The FCU's in the m17's with a safety are different than the FCU's in the m17's without a safety. (Absurd) There are different cutouts toward the rear of the FCU frame that make them different. Now, if you have a manual safety supported M17 you can switch back and forth by swapping out only the first 6 parts I listed.

The idea behind the sig p320 line is the modularity of being able to lift the whole FCU out of the frame and be able to swap it with different ones. That is what is serialized and considered a firearm. not the plastic frame.

I bought the fcu to make a whole pistol with parts left over from a rx x-change kit project. The previous owner added a Sig straight trigger, and I have an Apex straight trigger on my other fcu in my original 320c. Of the two I prefer the m17.
